Rm14s Tapa cloth

On Wednesday and Thursday last week we were lucky to have Mrs Demshey in our class. When Mrs D was in we made a tapa cloth, a tapa cloth is a cloth that is common in Rarotonga,Fiji,Samoa and Hawaii. How we made it was we grabbed our paper and screw it up carefully and then flatten it out (we did that 10 times). Then Mrs D ironed it out for us.  After we choose out pattern some we pretty easy but some people choose to challenge them selves and did one of the harder ones. Later on we stuck all our artwork together.
Here is a pic of our finished tapa:

Waikato times.

Last week our class had a photo for the Waikato times newspaper. They took the photo at the joiners playground. Makayla and Oliver where holding the Don't mess these kids book and also holding the bar on the playground. The rest of the  class was standing on the ground but only some of us where holding the Don't mess with these kids book. Here are some photos.

Whaea Billy and Whaea Denise help us with our Mihi's

On Friday we were very lucky to have two special visitors Whaea Billy and Whaea Denise come to support us with saying our personal mihi's that we have been learning.  They were particularly helpful with our pronounciation, as some words were a bit tricky for us to say correctly.
We now are so much more confident saying our mihi's, and our looking forward to sharing them with an audience in a few weeks time.
THANK YOU SO MUCH Whaea Billy and Whaea Denise!  We really appreciate it!
