On Monday we had our special sharing time to each other. The year 5's were very lucky, and got to be the first audience for the year 6's dance. It was amazing, we were so impressed with thier wonderful performance. Then the year 5's presented a special gift that they have been working on for weeks. A special hanging mobile just for them which included things like the first letter of their first name and a 3D items which shows things that they are into. Here are some photos of our special afternoon!

Today we took time out today to enjoy a little treat! What kind of treat do you have after studying procedure writing all term? Well, Dirt Dessert, of course! YUM! We made the yummy dessert with chocolate yogurt, crushed oreo cookies, and a gummi worm. And yes, we will turn this treat into a writing activity. We brainstormed words we would need to tell someone how to make it. Then got busy with our "How to" plans today. come back and visit our blogs next week to see the amazing procedures we create because of this language experience!

Today we learnt about an artist called Lin Zimmerman who paints while listening to music. His inspiration for hi artwork is the things that he visualizes while listening to music. He paints amazing paintings on silk material. Using this artist as our inspiration - we had a go at doing this too. We listened to a piece of classical music and drew what we visualized. After 30 seconds we had to pass the paper along for the person next to us to add to the artwork. We had to listen and think carefully about how our image was changing as the musics tempo and pace changed as well. Come check out our pictures sometime, they are all very unique!

On Friday at room 6's assembly we got the class award. we got the class award because we were making a picture using the art technique linear perspective 1 and 2. linear perspective 1 is a one persons view of seeing and linear perspective 2 is a one persons view of images using two vanishing points. after that lesson Loren went home and she drew her own linear perspective art work but she used two vanishing points. Mrs Williamson thought it was really amazing when she saw Loren's art and so she decided that she would give us the class award. That's how we got the class award.

It takes a community to look after a child
How it works
Before their ‘big day out’ in the city, ‘Buddies’ are dressed, decorated, and given a name and story by children from schools and childcare centres. The conversations with the kids are around what does a child needs to be happy and healthy, and have a sense of belonging….
As well as having hundreds of Buddies out and about in the city, Buddy Day plays out minute by minute online through Facebook and Twitter as Buddy ‘Carers’ share photos and stories of their experiences. Letting everyone know what their Buddy’s been up to throughout the day
Room 14 and Room 2 have been busy planning out the designs for our four buddy children. Here are photos of us working in our groups and the designs of our buddies. We are going to create a:
